Social media marketing strategy
Social media marketing is defined as a process of promoting and advertising your products or services through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other social networking websites using ads like Google Adwords to drive targeted traffic to your website. Social media marketing allows you to reach out to both existing and potential customers with a personal touch, which you can't achieve with other traditional advertising methods.
Marketers have a more challenging prey of reaching targeted audiences and Social Media Marketing helps them to come up with the perfect mix of skills required for this modern marketing method. The success of SMM depends upon its ability to assist businesses in establishing strong relationships with their customers and potential customers. While working on a Social media marketing campaign, marketers must be clear with their goals and objectives in order to develop a plan that best suits them.
Mainly SMM is described as:
1. Social Media Marketing is targeted at users who are already engaged in social networking sites
2. It is a process of promoting and advertising products and services through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter etc.
3. It allows businesses to reach out to both existing and potential customers with a personal touch which cannot be achieved by other traditional advertising methods
4. Social Media Marketing is used for customer retention and also to upgrade the old clients through new offers.
Social media is the new radio; it has the biggest reach, and gives marketers the opportunity to get their message out to millions of people for free (well perhaps almost free) The key to social media marketing success is listening, engaging and reacting. Engaging with your audience on social media builds relationships that can take months or years using other media. Social media is real-time, so there are no delays in communication between organizations and their customers. The downside to social media marketing is that its nonstop nature means marketers have to be ever vigilant for the latest hot topics or memes that may affect their brands.
Social Media Marketing allows you to reach out to both existing and potential customers with a personal touch which you cannot achieve by using other traditional methods. Social media marketing is being used as a part of the digital marketing mix to increase brand awareness, offer customer service and improve the web site ranking. It allows businesses to engage in two-way conversation with their audiences through social sharing.
Social Media Marketing is usually split into different types of marketing strategies. The main four types are:

The Dopamine connection of social media.
Social media has this incredible ability of making us feel good about ourselves. It gives us the opportunity to be exposed to people who are both real and unreal. We see their happy moments, their achievements, special occasions, what they had for lunch today..etc. Studies have shown that uploading your images on Instagram can contribute to higher levels of dopamine.
Where are we headed? Is it bad or good for society?
Social media has almost taken over our daily lives. Is it bad or good for society? In my personal opinion, social media is a platform that can be used in both positive and negative manners. It is helpful to some extent, but at the same time it may also be harmful to certain individuals who constantly think about updates on social media. People are wasting their time on social media, instead of using it for good purposes like finding a cure to cancer or helping the people in need. But it is not their fault entirely as they do not have much to do at home and spending time on social media seems interesting at first, but you will realize that it can be harmful if you spend most of your time on it. Parents should also monitor how much their children are using social media and to what extent, because it can be very dangerous for young kids who can easily fall into the trap of cyberbullying and things like that. Overall I would say that there is nothing wrong with Social Media, but people do need to keep an eye on what they are posting and how much time they are spending on it. We all should keep in mind that at the end, social media is just a platform which can be used for good purposes as well if we want to use it in a positive manner.
So what are you waiting for! Go ahead! Get the Most out of Social Media Marketing
