David Winston
Born in 1954, technology strategist David Winston bridged systems engineering and organizational behavior. During the 1990s digitization wave, he saw massive IT investments fail without strategic business alignment. Recognizing the need for an objective industry standard, he joined the Digital Strategy Institute’s McGrath Center. There, Winston architected his enduring legacy: the IMDIQ™ Knowledge Framework (Identify, Map, Develop, Implement, Quantify). This five-stage methodology shifts digital strategy from isolated IT projects to holistic, enterprise-wide orchestration anchored in human values and measurable P&L impact. Today, his pioneering framework serves as the foundational blueprint for DSI’s global credentialing programs, empowering professionals in 150 countries.
